Euphemism is the most effective verbal expression in the communication process, which is created to a- void embarrassment or reduce the hurt feelings of others. In the field of western social and culture life, the euphe- mism appears in high frequency and is widely used to communicate. Using the euphemism, people can use peacea- ble and sweet words to talk about or describe something that is originally unhappy. This paper starts with the mean- ing of euphemism, combining characteristics of euphemism, and emphatically introduces some special usage exam- ples of euphemism in English.
