民办高职院校生源短缺影响因素的实证分析——以江苏为例

An Empirical Analysis of Influencing Factors on Enrollment Shortage of Private Colleges——A Case Study Based on Jiangsu Private Colleges

因为生源短缺而试行的高职院校注册入学方式给整个高等教育带来了震动。运用层次分析法对江苏民办高等职业院校生源短缺的原因进行研究,结果显示:按重要程度排列前5位的影响因子是办学设施、学校所在区域、收费标准、学校师资与学术水平、就业前景。排列在后3位的影响因子是国家对民办高校的扶持政策、区域性地方限制政策和公办高校扩招政策。即造成民办高职院校生源短缺的因素是民办高职院校自身和社会环境因素,与国家宏观政策因素关系不大。研究结论提供给民办高职院校的启示:必须加强办学基本条件建设,必须加强办学内涵建设,必须提高毕业生的就业质量。

The trial implementation of enrollment in vocational colleges, which has been proposed due to the shortage of student pool, arouses significant concerns on higher education. In this article, an AHP methodology has been applied to study reasons of the shortage of students＇ enrollment. The result indicates that the top five influencing factors are education facilities, location of colleges, tuition fees, competence of teachers and their R＆D capabilities, and employment prospects of graduates. The next three influencing fac- tors are the governmental incentive policies in support of private vocational colleges, regional restrictive poli- cies, and expansion of enrollment in public higher education. The shortage of students＇ enrollment is thus more attributable to private college itself and social environment than the national macro policy. The implica- tions of this study are that private colleges should further consolidate its fundamental facilities, enhance its core content and improve the employment quality of graduates.
