A Thought on the Development of American Public schools——A Cultural and Economic Perspective

美国公立学校是沿着包含意识形态操纵、文化战争和种族主义的文化线索和包括公立学校历史上的经济问题和消费主义在内的经济线索发展的。在此发展过程中,美国政府采取了择校计划、学校私有化和特许学校三项有力的措施,以保证其快速发展。通过经济和文化线索可以发现,美国政府虽然放弃了对公立学校的管理,但是却通过资源分配加强了国家对于公立和私立学校的控制。这种强势教育改革,虽然在某种程度上加快了教育事业的发展,但却从根本上违背了教育的精神,我们应当引以为鉴。

Abstract： economic clues. The cuttural chzes include the manipulation of ideology, cultural war and racism. The economic clues cover both aspects as economic problems and the consumerism in the history of public schools. School plan, school privatization and charter schools are the three measures taken to ensure the rapid development of public schools. Based on both clues, American government successfully wins control over public and private schools with resources allocation by abandoning the rights of public school management. Strong as the re form is. it violates the spirit of education, which is something we should fight against.
