英汉语“红色(red)”的文化隐喻差异

The Differences of Red Color in English and Chinese

Red(红色)在英汉文化里都是指"红颜色",但是由红颜色引申出的文化意义有相同之处,有不同之处,有的大相径庭,有的甚至与红色毫无关联。本文主要从红色的"喜庆、昌盛","红色标记、引起注意",和"政治色彩"及成语等八个方面来讨论红色(red)。

Red is referred to the red color in English as it is in Chinese, hut its cultural meanings in the two languages from the color red, used together with other words, are various： some are identical, some are different, and some are even not related to the red color. In this paper, we discuss the cultural meanings of the red color related to the eight aspects such as ＂happiness＂ and ＂prosperity＂, ＂the red mark drawing attention＂, and ＂the political color＂.
