The love songs of Bouyei people grows in the soil of folk culture formed by the customs such as nanghsaaul, nanghmbaaus, antiphonal singing style, religious ceremonies and singing in daily life. The styles and ways of singing, as well as the characteristics of Bouyei love songs are influenced by such factors as history of Bouyei people and the natural environment they live in. It is the special cultural ecology that makes the love songs popular in Bouyei areas, and marked by the Bouyei nationality traditional love songs of the brand, while it had disappeared among Han Chinese in the early stage. With the quickening of the process of modernization, the ecology of love songs in Bouyei areas is seriously impacted. The urgent task is to strengthen the protection and transmission of traditional culture, help the young genera- tion to absorb nutrients from traditional culture and establish a correct outlook on life, values, love and morality, cany forward the traditional custom of free communication between young men and women of Bouyei people in the new histori- cal conditions.
