On China’s Construction of Cultural Soft Power from the Perspective of “Cultural Consciousness”

全球化的发展使世界各国尤其是发展中国家面临着文化适应和文化自主的问题,坚持"文化自觉"是对全球化潮流的一种积极回应,也是加强国家文化软实力建设的重要途径。"文化自觉"对于我们掌握文化转型自主权、正确认识本土传统文化与外民族文化、提升中国文化软实力具有重要意义。应全面认识中华传统文化,发挥其积极作用;加强对外文化交流合作,实现和谐共处;增强文化发展的主体自觉性,推动文化创新。

The development of globalization has challenged every country, especially the developing countries, with problems of acculturation and cultural autonomy. For a nation, maintaining 'cultural consciousness' is a positive response to the tide of globalization, and an important way to strengthen its national cultural soft power. 'Cultural consciousness' is highly significant for us to remain autonomous in cultural transformation, to understand our traditional culture and foreign cultures, and to enhance China ’s cultural soft power. We should pursue a comprehensive understanding of Chinese traditional culture and give full play to its positive functions, strengthen external cultural exchange and cooperation for a harmonious coexistence, enhance our subjective consciousness of cultural development and promote cultural innovations.
