Listening is a crucial skill in foreign language studies, as it plays an important role in communication. This article explores the content and aims of the listening task and analyses some general difficulties therein. The listening tests of TestDaF and PGH are introduced and compared, on the basis of which strategies of improving students＇skills are suggested.
