The image of Woodsman in the classical literature, is more than an occupation. Rather, the au thor highlights a kind of harmonous relation between man and nature by presenting his special natural workplace(mountains, sometimes rivers), which displays particular significance of both culture and beauty. In Journey to the West ,five times there appears Woodsman(together with Fisherman), and it shows their status of living in the mountain and away from worldly madding crowd, and understanding and appreciation of All in One in ancient classical works.
