A literature review of spatial metaphor of time representation

综述近30年来时间表征的空间隐喻的研究状况,描述这一问题的研究进展:从时间-空间隐喻的产生机制,到跨文化领域的对比研究,从语言层面到非语言层面,研究向更广的领域扩展。然而至今,对于时间表征是否完全可以通过空间隐喻实现,时间-空间隐喻的产生机制等根本性的问题,学者们并没有达成一致。这依然是亟待解决的问题。

This article reviews the study of spatial metaphor of time representation nearly in the past 30 years, in which it describes the progress of the problem, from the generation mechanism of space-time metaphor, to cross culture comparative study of the field; from the linguistic perspectives to non-linguistic perspectives; the study has expanded to a much broader field. However, for the representation of time, whether it can be realized thoroughly through spatial metaphors, what the generation mechanism of time- space metaphor is, scholars have not reached an agreement in such fundamental problems, which still need to be solved urgently.
