魏源为周文王之后,其先世江西省泰和县人,历农耕兼补锅业传家、农耕兼经商传家至业儒登仕传家。
Wei Yuan is one of the offsprings of Emperor Wen of the Zhou Dynasty. His ancestors lived in Taihe, Jiangxi province as farmers, tinkers, businessmen, and then Confucian scholars and officials.
