孙洪伊是近代中国立宪运动的先驱,其一生立志报国,追求进步,组建政党,实践民主宪政,对于中国近代民主政治的发展做出了极大的贡献。孙洪伊参加和组建了多个近代政党,参与了近代中国的许多重大政治事件,但在孙死后他的事业和思想几乎被世人和历史所遗忘。因此,对于孙洪伊政治活动和立宪思想研究,将有助于我们进一步深刻理解他在近代中国立宪运动中的重要作用。

Sun Hongyi was one of the ancestors of constitutionalism movement in modem China. He contributed his life for Chinese progress as a statesman and did his best to practice his political ideal of democracy and constitutionalism by building and attending modem parties. But it was so pity that his political work and constitutional idea have being forgotten by many Chinese at present. Therefore, it is necessary to study Sun＇s political behavior and constitutional thoughts and it will be helpful for us to understand his importance in modem China.
