Chinese leader Xi Jinping has expressed confidence in maintaining and boosting crossstraits ties. Speaking during a meeting on February 25 with a Taiwan delegation led by Lien Chan, honorary chairman of the Kuomintang, Xi said that the new leaders of the Communist Party of China （CPC） will continue to promote the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations, and that compatriots from the two sides of the straits can cooperate in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation - the greatest dream in the country＇s modern history. The meeting was Xi＇s first with a Taiwan delegation since becoming general secretary of the CPC Central Committee in November, 2012.
