山西吉县柿子滩旧石器时代遗址S14地点2002～2005年发掘简报

The Excavation of the Locality S14 of Shizitan Paleolithic Site in Jixian County,Shanxi

吉县柿子滩遗址多个地点有旧石器时代晚期遗存。S14地点于2000年被发现并进行了试掘。2002-2005年,对S14地点进行了三次发掘,清理古人类用火遗迹17处,出土遗物4000余件,主要包括石制品和动物化石,为研究中国北方细石器起源和古人类生活方式提供了实物资料。

Shizitan Site is a microlithic site of the late Paleolithic Age about 20 ka BP. The stone products found in this site are mainly made of chert, followed by quartzite and vein quartz; the stone implement assemblage is mainly composed of small end scraper, scraper, point and backed knife, and large-sized implements are absent. The microlithic technique, stone querns and campfire-using remains appeared in the strata as early as 23 ka BP or even earlier. The materials of this locality provided physical data and stratigraphic evidences for the researches on the origins of the microlith in northern China and the lifestyles of the people in the late Paleolithic Age.
