摘要
小报新闻通常被认为是坏新闻的同义词,其对煽情和丑闻的热衷、对低级趣味的迎合一直以来备受诟病,甚至一度被认为是对民主和政治参与的威胁。让批评者没有想到的是伴随了整个新闻史的小报新闻,在历史的长河中不仅没有消失,反而在新时期得到了新的发展。追溯小报的发展轨迹,我们会发现小报并非如部分批评者所言,构成了对民主的威胁,降低了公众对政治的兴趣,恰恰相反小报新闻在开辟新的受众、新的议题、新的报道方式和新的话语内容等方面发挥了大报无法企及的作用。
Tabloid journalism is generally considered to be the synonym of bad news. It widely received blames because of its zeal for sensational news and scandals. It was even regarded as the barrier to democracy and political participation. However, the tabloid news unexpectedly survived in the long history and got new development in new period. Dates back to its development, this paper finds out that the tabloid news didn't imperil the democracy and lower the public's interests on political affairs, instead, the tabloid news plays important role on attracting new audience, setting new agendas and expanding new discourse for the public.
