摘要
本研究从邻接原则和BCI理论的分歧出发,运用语法判断方法调查了中国英语学习者的岛屿限制知识,并用否定测试方法调查了他们的构式信息结构知识。结果发现,中国英语学习者具有岛屿限制知识,并认为不同类型的岛屿限制句可接受程度不同;他们的岛屿限制知识和他们的句子信息结构知识具有一定的相关性。以上结果总体上支持BCI理论而不支持邻接原则。
Inspired by the debate between the subacency principle and BCI, this study investigates Chinese EFL learners' knowledge of island constraints through a grammaticality judgment and their knowledge of sentential information structure through a negation test. The results suggest that the Chinese EFL learners show knowledge of island constraints and they treat the subtypes of islands differently. Their knowledge of island constraints is related to their knowledge of information structural properties of sentences.
