过程类型转换所体现的“时空穿越”——对唐诗《夜雨寄北》及其英译文的经验功能分析

A Metafunctional-Experiential Analysis of Li Shangyin’s Poem “Ye Yu Ji Bei”

文章以功能语言学为理论框架,对唐诗《夜雨寄北》及其英译文进行了经验功能分析,发现同一个意象往往在言语过程与非言语过程小句之间重复出现,这种过程类型的转换体现了"时空穿越"的意义。在具体的语言形式上,原诗与译文、译文与译文之间在及物性方面也存在一些微妙的差异,这些差异都不同程度地影响了对意义的表达。

This paper offers an analysis of the poem ＂Ye Yu Ji Bei＂ by Li Shangyin and its translated versions under the framework of Experiential Metafunction in functional linguistics. It finds out that the meaning of ＂space-time transcendence＂ can be expressed by the reappearance of the same imagery in clauses of verbal and non-verbal processes. There are also other differences between the original poem and the translated ones in terms of transitivity, which in one way or another affect the expression of meanings.
