摘要
基于英语学习者笔头作文语料库(WECCL)和英语母语者语料库LOCNESS(The LouvianCorpus of Native English Essays),对中国大学生英语进行体的使用情况进行调查研究,以期为外语教学带来相关启示。研究发现中国大学生英语议论文写作中进行体的使用频数略有不足;进行体动词使用种类单一,常局限于小部分词汇上,有滥用现象,英语本族语中很少用于进行体的动词却频繁出现在中国大学生英语写作中;同时,中国大学生写作中进行体使用常出现不地道、甚至不正确表达现象。
Based on the evidence from WECCL and LOCNESS, the present paper investigates Chinese college students' use of progressive in English writings, wishing to offer certain insights to English pedagogy. The research findings indicate that as far as the overall frequency is concerned, Chinese college students overused progressive in their writings. They only rely on a limited number of verbs to realize progressive. Verbs seldom used in progressive form by native speaker are frequently used in progressive form in Chinese college students' writings. The results also display non-nativeness and incorrectness of progressive use in Chinese college students' English writings.
