The determination of releasing capacity of CO 2 and C 2H 4 from plant material plays an important role in the research of plant physiology. With the two-dimensional gas chromatography, the CO 2 and C 2H 4 releasing by plant materials can be determined simultaneously. The characteristic of this method is rapid, simple and accurate. The minimum detection of C 2H 4 is <1 μL -1 . The resolution of CO 2 and C 2H 4 is 2.2.The best column temperature is 70℃ and column length is 2m.
