After experiencing rapid development over the past few years,ENN has encountered more and more challenges.Not only has the natural gas market become more and more saturated, the ferocious expansion of state-owned companies has pushed ENN closer and closer to the precipice.In 2012,ENN worked in concert with Sinopec to acquire China Gas Holdings (00384.HK).This was seen as an important attempt by ENN to deal with the current situation. Wang Yusuo hoped to use this acquisition to increase the company's market share as well establish an even closer relationship with gas giant Sinopec.It is expected to better relieve the increasing pressure given by the stateowned enterprises like PetroChina and China Resources Group.However,in the end all these efforts came to naught.
