摘要
培养阅读理解能力是大学英语教学的重要目标之一。第二语言阅读策略研究显示,阅读能力弱的学员倾向于逐字阅读,把注意力放在文章的结构和语句上,而高水平的读者注意的是文章内在和外在意义的关系。据此,在统计分析的基础上,比较了非英语专业大学一年级新学员在以形式为主的语法学习中和以意义为主的阅读理解练习中的表现。实验结果是:两者之间无显著关联。这对提高学员英语阅读理解能力具有指导意义。
Reading comprehension ability is one essential objective of college English teaching. L2 reading strategy research has shown that poor readers tend to direct attention to the words and structures of a passage, whereas more skilled readers focus on meaningful relations to and with- in the material. Given these tendencies, a comparison of performance on form--focused grammar activities and meaning--driven reading comprehension activities among freshmen of non-- English major was conducted,based on statistical analysis. A negative correlation between successes on either activity was expected, which is helpful in improving students; reading compre- hension.
