摘要
18世纪传到海外的中国民歌中,《茉莉花》无疑是最有名、流传最广的一首。通过使用一些目前尚未被有效利用的西文文献和历年来海外及西方学者的相关研究来考察《茉莉花》在海外的流传与演变,可以达到为中国音乐在海外流传研究勘误和补遗的目的。
This essay traces the transmission and transformation of the Chinese folksong Moo-lee-wha(Jasmine flower) abroad from the end of the 18th century to the late 1910s.Apart from presenting various(and mostly little known) versions of the song,it also examines the different ways in which Moo-lee-wha had been used to inform EuroAmerican society of Chinese music.
