浅谈王维山水田园诗的英文译介——以《山居秋暝》为例

On English Translation of Wang Wei′s Landscape and Pastoral Poetry: Taking Shan Ju Qiu Ming for Example

王维是唐代山水田园诗派的佼佼者。他的诗突破了山水诗人实录描摹的手法,以画入诗,以乐入诗,以禅入诗,气韵生动,空灵悠远,为典籍英译提供了优秀的蓝本,但同时也对典籍英译所能传达的神韵提出了严峻的挑战。诸家译作,在遣词用句上极尽工巧,虽在实录描摹和意境追求上互有得失,但却都体现了既求其达意,更求其传神的不懈努力,值得人们认真地研究和学习。

Wang Wei is an outstanding poet of the landscape and pastoral school of Tang Poetry.His poetry breaks through the realistic description of the landscape poets by introducing painting,music,and even Zen Buddhism into his poems,vivid,ethereal,remote,and thus provides excellent examples for English translation of Chinese classics.Meanwhile this poses a serious challenge for classics translation of the romantic charm.With great artistry in diction,various classics translations vary in realistic description and artistic conception,but they have all achieved expressiveness and even elegance.This is well worthy of study and learning.
