King John is usually neglected, but actually it is one of Shakespeare＇s mature, outstanding historical plays. From the creation time, this play belongs to Shakespeare＇s mature histories. Especially it features clear primary intention, vivid plot, and bright personalities. What＇s more, it greatly succeeds in portraying Son Philip, this unique, carnival character. King John indeed is an excellent historical drama written by Shakespeare.
