The Concept of Europeanization and the Theories of European Integration

欧洲化成为过去10年欧洲研究最大的增长点之一,"欧洲化"概念本身也演绎出了许多种不同的用法,但严格来讲,只有国家适应欧洲化和国家投射欧洲化属于欧洲一体化理论的范畴。从兴起的背景来看,欧洲化是欧洲一体化理论发展最新阶段的表现;从欧洲一体化理论坐标来看,国家适应欧洲化和国家投射欧洲化分别位于偏向功能主义和政府间主义的区域,但都没像之前的一些理论严格地靠近一轴。这样的分布特点说明虽然欧洲化延续了一体化理论中的功能主义和政府间主义之争,但较之前的各种理论更有通融性。

The concept of Europeanization, which has been one of the strongest growth points in European studies over the last decade, has gradually picked up multiple meanings itself. However, strictly speaking, only national adaptation Euro- peanization and national projection Europeanization fall into the scope of the theories of European integration. Viewed from its emerging backgrounds, Europeanization embodies the theories of European integration in its latest developmental phase. From the perspective of the theories of European integration, we can see that national adapta- tion Europeanization and national projection Europeanization are close to functionalism and inter-governmentalism respec- tively, but neither stays strictly close to either of the axes as some known integration theories. This distribution pattern of of Europeanization shows that though it still inherits the long-standing opposition between functionalism and inter-gov- ernmentalism of the European integration theories, it has now become more compatible than any of the theories existent before.
