"怎么"型反问句须同时具有间接性、否定性、语境性这3种特点。其语用功能包括:表情功能、呼唤功能、断言功能。汉译英中"怎么"型反问句的处理策略是:译文的语用功能、译文的形式和译文的语气应尽量与原文一致。

＂Zenme-type＂rhetorical questions are the sentences characterized by indirectness, negation and contextualization simultaneously. On the basis of the characteristics, this paper attempts to dis- cuss the translation strategies of＂Zenme-type＂ rhetorical questions from the perspective of pragmatic function, including expressive, evocative and affirmative function. And it holds that in dealing with the C-E translation, the version is supposed to converge to the original in terms of the pragmatic func- tion, the form and the tones of the original as much as possible.
