In The Enchantress of Florence, Rushdie establishes an imaginary hybridized world by post modernistic narrative skills, which is based on the real historical events. In postconlonial discourse, such hybridity provides means for the communication and the solution for conflicts of different cultures. Meanwhile, it paves the way to clear up the mess of postcolonialism. Applying Homik Bhabha' s "Liminal Space Theory", this paper is intended to study the hybridity in the postconlonial discourse reflected in the novel and explore the novel' s contemporary signif-icance through analysing the strengthening effect of the writing style and the content of the novel.
