Considering the upgraded low rank coal as substitute products of coke and anthracite, this paper analysizes the applicability and potential market capacity of upgraded low rank coal in different replacement fields. The result shows the market capacity will reach 100 million ton per year or more in the future. It is emphasized that the particle size and ash content must be optimized and controlled in the upgrading process of low rank coal.
