A Comprehensive Study on Equivalence in Translation in Western Countries

等值问题是翻译研究中的一个核心问题。纵观西方翻译等值理论发展史及对西方当代相关理论的研究,不难发现,对翻译中等值问题的研究呈现热闹非凡、纷繁复杂的现象。各国翻译理论研究者从不同角度,或基于不同的考虑,对在翻译过程中是否存在等值翻译各持己见,争议颇多。对相关研究的梳理和进一步阐述及研究,对翻译理论的发展有一定的意义和价值。

Equivalence in translation is the core of translation studies. Through a general review of translation studies in the western countries, it is obvious that there have been diverse views on this issue, since those researchers have different study perspectives and thus may draw their conclusions, even some disputes. However, it is of profound significance to sort out the related studies and to make a comprehensive study on the equivalence in translation, which is also valuable to the further development of translation studies in the future.
