摘要
伯明翰学派的媒介研究在批判以往的媒介研究的基础上,强调突出了媒介编码与解码之间的意识形态斗争性,认为媒介一直所标榜的"真实"并非就是纯客观的,而是被建构出来的,其中就渗透着浓重的意识形态性。但伯明翰学派过分关注媒介的意识形态性,也招致了许多人的批评,引发了关于媒介研究的政治经济学与文化研究维度的论争。
Birmingham School emphasized the ideological struggle between encoding and decoding with criticizing the former media study. Birmingham School thought the "reality" in media was not objective but was built within ideology. Because of emphasizing ideological characteristic of media, Birmingham School was criticized by many people, which even led to the debate between Birmingham School paradigm and the political economics paradigm in media study.
