In the Western Hail dynasty, imperial uniform mainly included Ji-Fu and Chao-Fu, and their color had specific political implications. There were three changes about the color of Ji-Fu:the black in the early of the Western Han dynasty, because of inheritancing Qin dynasty' s Water De; the red in Han Wendi, from the influence of the legend about cutting white emperor' son; the yellow in Han Wudi, for Tu De. As for Chao-Fu in the Western Han dynasty, it was black on account of inheritancing Qin dynasty' s Water De.
