Research Progress of Modic Changes of Lumbar Spine

摘要 Modic改变是指腰椎终板及终板下骨质在磁共振成像上的信号改变,椎间盘退变之间有密切的关系。椎间盘退变性疾病的人群其Modic改变的发生率明显高于正常人,并随着年龄的增大不断增加。不同类型的Modic改变目前认为是同一病理变化不同时期的表现,混合型则被认为是一种过渡性表现,ModicⅡ型改变是否为一稳定阶段,仍存在争议。Modic改变的定量测量研究目前仍较少,确切发病机制尚不明确,可能是生物化学、生物力学及基因等多种因素联综合作用的结果。 Modic changes are the signal changes of lumbar vertebral end-plate and subchondral bone marrow on MRI which have a close relation with lumbar disc degeneration.The incidence of Modic changes with disc degenerative disease is significantly higher than normal,which increases with age.Different types of Modic change are the same pathological changes in different periods,whereas the mixed type is thought to be a transitional stage.Whether ModicⅡchange is a stable stage is still controversial.The quantitative research of Modic change is still insufficient,and the exact pathological mechanism is still not clear,which is thought to be the results of the combination of biochemical,biomechanical and genetic factors.
