The paper ＂Position Dependent Spontaneous Emission Spectra of a A-Type Atomic System Embedded in a Defective Photonic Crystal＂ by S. Roshan Entezar was submitted to Communications in Theoretical Physics on July 13, 2011 （revised version received on November 14, 2011）, and was published on January 15, 2012. It has since come to our attention that this paper contains an unacceptably large amount of content that is exactly the same as, or similar to, the content from a previously published article by the same author, Journal of Modern Optics 58 （2011） 1666-1672, without citing that article. Communications in Theoretical Physics hereby declares the retraction of this paper.
