拉威尔的管弦乐曲《波莱罗》,被众多作曲家和研究者视为配器的范本。尽管作曲家本人一再强调"它只是在一个非常特殊和有限范围内的一种实验"①,但从当今理论分析的角度来看,这种具"实验"性的音响效果中存在的特殊变奏技法——音色变奏,既承接着法国古典音乐传统,又反映了印象派的审美追求,并对之后新古典主义音乐的发展有着深远的影响。
Bolero, an orchestral piece by Ravel, is acknowledged by composers and researchers alike as a model of instru- mentation. Although the composer himself repeatedly said "it is only an experiment in a special and limited milieu", this ' experimental' sound effect, viewed from contemporary theoretical analysis, contains timbre variations which are a special technique of variation. This technique not only carries on the tradition of French classical music, but also reflects the aesthet- ic aspirations of the Impressionists and exerts a far-reaching influence on subsequent neo-classical music.
