High temperature ClO 2 bleaching (D0EPD1) has higher bleaching efficiency than the low temperature conventional sequence For the oxygen delignified kraft pulps(kappa number 10 2),the former sequence saves more than 20% chlorine dioxide charge compared to the later one when reaching the same high brightness(88%ISO) Low pH value in D0 stage of high temperature bleaching will promote the delignification and hydrolysis processes HuA is thus removed in D0 stage,and the bleaching efficiency is improved in subsequent stages
