Building Henan into a Strong Cultural Province:Achievements and Deficiencies

自2004年河南省实施文化强省战略以来,经过省委、省政府以及各地方党委、政府的共同努力,中原文化的影响力显著增强,文化强省建设大踏步前进,取得了一系列可喜的成绩。但是,如果从横向比较或未来发展的眼光看,则摆在河南省面前的任务仍是非常艰巨的。也正鉴于此,所以面向全国、放眼未来,对河南省过去在文化强省建设中所存在的问题加以分析,显然也是非常必要的。

Since the inception of the strategic move of building a strong cultural province in Henan in 2004, and with concerted endeavors made by Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China （CPC） and Henan Provincial Government, as well as by various local party committees and government, the cultural influence of Henan has seen steady improvement and great strides have been made in the construction of a strong cultural province in Henan. Notwithstanding all the fruitful achievements attained so far, the tasks that await Henan in the development of its cultural undertakings are still arduous if we adopt a comparative or developmental perspective. Under such circumstances, it is necessary to broaden our horizons and bear in mind a long - range perspective in order to beware of and analyze the problems that haunted Henan in its past bid to build a strong cultural province and avert the recurrence of the same problems in the future.
