中美关系正处于一个新的节点

China-U.S.Relations Are at a New Critical Juncture

中国现代化建设取得了史无前例的发展,中美两国的差距明显缩小。美国朝野普遍产生了一种被中国赶超的危机感,支持对华采取强硬立场的比例在上升,中美关系正处于一个新的节点。奥巴马政府第一任期把美国战略重点转向亚太地区,其制约中国崛起的意向明显。然而,中美关系中共同利益仍然大于分歧,合作仍是两国关系的主流。如何处理好今后的中美关系,需要从理论、政策、方法等方面进行全新创新。

Just as China has made unprecedented development never seen in history in its modernization drive,the gap between China and the United States is getting narrow.The sense of crisis of being caught up with and surpassed by China is running high among people of various circles in the U.S.,either within or out of the government.The percentage of people who are in favor of getting tough with China is increasing.Now,China-U.S. relations stand at a new critical juncture.The Obama administration in its first term pivoted its strategic focus to the Asia -Pacific region,and in so doing,its intentions in constraining China's rise are on the table.However,common interests in China-U.S.relations are still greater than their differences.Cooperation between China and the United States are still the main stream.How to manage China-U.S.relations in the future,will give both sides a good opportunity to bring forth new ideas and make innovations in various fields such as theories,policy,methods,etc.
