Value-directed metamemory refers to the fact that exposed to information of different values, individuals are required to selectively encode, preserve and retrieve the high-value information in order to allocate the attention resources reasonably and maximize their effective memories.Current studies abroad have mainly examined the Value-directed metamemory of adults and elderly people,as well as the impairment of Value-directed metamemory due to Alzheimer's Disease and Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The period known as adolescence is a critical time for the development of Value-directed metamemory, and Value-directed metamemory has an important effect on teenagers' abilities to selectively remember high-value information and obtain efficient memories. In the future,we may do further research in terms of experimental material, research method,as well as the factors of affecting the teenagers' Value-directed metamemory.
