The paper elaborates on and analyzes the design principle of the RBC＇s surround sound system and tuning of the surround speakers, including an introduction to the composition and function of the monitoring system in the recording studio. A priority is given to the design and construction of the surround sound system in the paper, illustrating factors for RBC to em- ploy the DTS surround sound system through a detailed introduction to the system and comparison with the Dolby surround sys- tem. With the gradually maturing design and stringent installation, the DTS surround sound system of the RBC has achieved good results. It has been tested by experts and proved by operation that the standard listening area has flat frequency response; positioning of programs is clear and accurate ; the monitoring effect meets the requirements of the 5.1 surround sound and is in line with proposals in Recommendation ITU - R BS. 775 - 1.
