On November 29, Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County celebrated its 60th birthday. Established in 1952, Jinxiu is China's oldest Yao autonomous county. Located in Dayaoshan, the heart of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, it has an area of 2,469 square kilometers and a population of 155,300 people. The county is inhabited by Yao, Zhuang and Han peoples, and is honored as the "Yao World Capital" by Yao ethnic experts, since the Yao ethnic group in the county is represented by five branches here, namely the Pan Yao, Chashan Yao, Hualan Yao, Shanzi Yao and Ao Yao.
