新中国为了寻求和平建设的环境,建国初亟需加强反对帝国主义的侵略、建设保卫世界和平的外交工作。然而在大多数国家尚未和我国建立正式外交关系的情况下,郭沫若肩负起外交使命进行外交活动的意义便显得格外深刻。郭沫若在此时创作的大量的外交诗文中频繁使用"太阳"这一意象,其中所潜藏的意义指向将对学界重新审视郭沫若"十七年"诗文创作的时代价值提供启示。
