＂The transportation Atlas of Shanxi＂ is a Thematic atlas, according to Shanxi basic geographic information data- base. Depenging on database mapping technology, and using the methods of maps and geographic information visualization,it elaborates the content, structural framework, design ideas, tech- nical process and characteristics of mapping in detail. And it introduces systematically the status and planning of Shanxi transport development. Also it illustrates the characteristics and laws of the transportation network in Shanxi. It provides a reliable decision making basis for advancing the rapid develop- ment of Shanxi transportation, convenient reference and infor- mation indemnification for mass tourism travel.
