This paper discusses the fundamental characteristics and microstructure of aged refuse. Aged refuse consists by irregular polytope, its surface is convex and exists large void. It has the characteristics of good ventilation and reoxygenation, higher water permeability. Aged refuse has strong denitrification and dephosphorization capability, which is an excellent biological filler or medium reaction bed, can be widely used in sewage purification treatment.
