Internet Buzzwords belong to a special language variation,containing the cultural connotation far beyond the semantic features.As the popular terms extensively used in the daily life on the internet,the translation of internet buzzwords has become more and more popular recently.To well spread China’s internet culture and show the charm of Chinese characters,the translators should seek the most effective and equivalent effects in the translation of Chinese internet buzzwords.The C-E translation of internet buzzwords from the perspective of functional equivalence is analyzed,the translation methods with the help of exemplification and argumentation are explored,and the semantic features and cultural connotation that Chinese internet buzzwords hold is concluded.
