Different Perspective of Imagination on the Gender Space: Comparison of Gender Narrative in The Princess and Frenchman's Creek

劳伦斯的《公主》和杜穆里埃的《法国人的小湾》对两性关系主题进行了不同方式的探索。两部作品都以女性为主人公,讲述女主人公的冒险爱情故事。但由于叙述角度的不同呈现出不同的故事结构和人物模式,展现了性别立场相异的两位作家对两性关系及其理想状态的思考与探讨。虽然对灵肉交融的幸福渴望是人类两性共同的追求,也是劳伦斯和杜穆里埃的一致关注,但两部作品却表现出完全不同的两性关系建构模式。

Both Herbert Lawrence＇s The Princess and Daphne Du Maurier＇s Frenchman＇s Creek express the themes of gender relations in different ways.The woman protagonist in two novels tells the love story of the heroine adventure by taking on a different story structure and the character pattern because of the different narrative perspective.The ideal state of gender relations at different gender positions,regarding that the happy desire for the spirit of blending in with the body,is the common pursuit of different sex.However,these two novels show different relationship style of sex completely.
