Objective To analyze the features of adult patients with sudden deafness lipid metabolic characteristics, to investi- gate the relationship between sudden deafness and dyslipidemia. Methods Serum content of triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol ( CHOL), low density lipoprotein cholesterol ( LDL), high density lipoprotein cholesterol ( HDL), apolipoprotein A1 ( APOA1 ), apoli- poprotein B (APOB) in 260 cases with sudden deafness patients were retrospectively analyzed, and compared with 260 non -otology disease patients (normal hearing) that received therapy in hospital at the same time. The lipid of two groups carried on the statistical a- nalysis. Results The level of TG, CHOL, LDL and APOB in sudden deafness group was higher than normal hearing patients, there was significantly difference ( P 〈 0.05) ; there was no statistical difference of the level of HDL and APOA1 in the two groups ( P 〉 0.05 ) ; Logistic multiple factors analysis showed that LDL was a major risk factor for the incidence of sudden deafness, while APOA1 was the protective factor. Conclusion Lipid levels in patients with sudden deafness are higher than that in normal hearing group, the level of LDL and APOAI has relationship with the incidence of sudden deafness.
