摘要
郭秉文不仅是我国现代高等教育管理实践的重要开拓者,也是我国现代教育管理学研究的开创性人物。他的教育管理学思想有着鲜明的教育意味和"持中"感。一方面,他重视教育管理的教育性,主张教育要面向所有公众,教育管理应具有公共精神。另一方面,他也坚信教育管理是一种持中之道,认为合理的教育管理应恰当地处理西方与中国的关系,注重教育管理的本土情境;应深入地考察过去与现在的关联,提升教育管理的历史感;应审慎地辨识激进与保守的利弊,意识到教育改革的渐进性。
KUO Ping-wen is not only an important pioneer of modern higher education administration, but a seminal people of modern educational administration study in China. Through analyzing his works of educational administration, we can find that his thoughts of educational administration have two important characteristics. On the one hand, KUO' s educational administration thoughts have obvious character of pedagogy that lay emphasis on educational functions of educational administration. Moreover, he argues that education shouid be open for all, and education administration must have the public spirit. On another hand, KUO gives extraordinary importance and attention to moderation stand in educational administration. He emphasizes educational administrators should properly balance the relations between westernization and localization, tradition and modernity, and radicalism and conservatism.
