摘要
运用叙事语篇中区分前景和背景的语言学标准,对自建语料库中英汉下指实例的体标记和句法标记进行了详尽的分析。语料分析结果表明,叙事背景化是出现下指现象的主要动因。基于双向翻译对等语料的分析同样证明了英汉下指的背景化功能。
By adopting the linguistic criteria for distinguishing foreground and background information in narrative discourse, the present paper makes a detailed analysis of the aspect and syntactic markers in the cataphora instances in our English and Chinese data. Our data analysis shows that narrative backgrounding is the crucial factor that motivates the use of cataphora. The verification tests based on our bi-directional translationally equivalent data also provide support for the backgrounding status of the construction types in which cataphoric pronouns appear in narrative discourse.
