The Image of the West in Chinese "Science Fiction" of the Early 20^(th) Century——A Case Study of Novels on The Moon Colony by Huang Jiangdiaosuo

20世纪初的中国文学出现了"科幻小说"这一崭新门类,它与传统小说的叙事有着很大的区别,作家凭借对西方科学的认知,运用文学的叙述方式,构筑了一幅瑰丽的强国梦。论文通过具体分析署名荒江钓叟所著的《月球殖民地小说》中的西方形象,考察20世纪初作家言说"西方"的深层意义。

In Chinese literature of the early 20th century there emerged a new category—＂science fiction＂ which differed from the narrative of traditional novels,because writers of such fiction managed to present a magnificent dream of a powerful nation by virtue of their cognition of western science and through their use of literary narrative mode.This paper attempts to explore the profound meaning of depicting ＂The west＂ by Chinese writers in the early 20th century by analyzing in detail the image of the West in Novels on the Moon Colony by Huang Jiangdiaosuo.
