This paper outlines the technical principles of IEEE1588 time synchronization protocol, and introduces the design and technical features of an electronic transformer calibration device based on IEEE1588 time synchronization mode. This device is applied in the error calibration of electronic transformer, the results of which will provide reference for the application of IEEE1588 time synchronization protocol in smart grid.
