A Discussion on the Female Images of Defending One's Chastity in the Vernacular Short Stories of Ming and Qing Dynasties

在明清拟话本小说中,出现了为数众多的贞节烈女形象。这些女性形象集中而大量地出现主要受历史原因、社会原因和主体创作倾向的影响。具体表现为既有古代传统贞节观对女性的影响,也与明清统治者的提倡和小说家的教化意图有直接关系。

With mainly the historical reasons,the social factors and the writing trend emerged numerous female images of defending one＇s chastity in the vernacular short stories of Ming and Qing dynasties.These images not only embody the influence of traditional view of chastity on women in the past,and also reflect directly the avocation of the dominators and the moralizing intention of novelists in Ming and Qing dynasties.
